Why Are Yews Positioned In Churchyard Corners?

Paula Flint

Wow… just WOW!!!

I’m truly humbled and overwhelmed with all the comments and messages of support from the launch of my facebook page ‘TalkingToTreesProject’ and the interest shown.

I confess it took a lot of soul searching and digging deep to overcome the fear of being ridiculed with the launch of the tree conversations. This fear is a legacy originating from a past life trauma and obviously still a work in progress, however everyone’s words of encouragement has made the journey feel ‘right’.

A lot of the churches I visited have yew trees placed in each corner of the churchyard. In my conversation with the Ancient at Ulcombe (Kent) I decided to ask why.

Ulcombe Message Extract:

"Yews were placed in four corners for protection by the Ancients who would use the area for worship and rituals. They were more tuned into their energetic abilities than you are today and they were aware that we have the ability to soak up and cleanse any evil spirit, although I hesitate to use that word as nothing is evil, just misguided."

The Wivelsfield Veteran (Kent) also had the following comments to make on the subject:

"We are the bridge that crosses and transcends time and space to allow souls to pass over cleansed and rejuvenated. That is not our main mission but it is one that gives great joy and delight to see a cleansed soul being repatriated into the Greatness of All Things."

Is this why Yews are toxic?

As most of a yew is toxic (apart from the berry casing), it’s interesting to wonder whether this is in part due to the spiritual cleansing work they do.

I have a favour to ask: please would you LIKE and SHARE the 'TalkingToTreesProject' facebook page to help spread the yew messages and raise money for the planting of new trees. Thank you!

Hi Paula, I have over 1000 pages of 20 years of talks and experiences I've had with loving sentient trees, Spirit, boulders, whales and dolphins, a star,... I am working to turn into the Tree Love books. Two of the trees I've visited and conversed with were the Ankerwycke Yew and Totteridge Yes. We should be in touch! I'll send you my email on your Facebook page. Love and blessings, Elisa Novick
